Hello,

My friend Matevž Slokar has started a social enterprise in his restaurant Dama in Slovenia. He has been inspired by Fifteen and he has formed a great team here in Slovenia including his right hand person (really the boos!) Anna. The S project Academy is about giving young unemployed youth in Slovenia a chance by skilling them in the hospitality industry. They are paid a wage for 6 months plus full board and food and they gain practical experience by working in the restaurant Dama. Matevz invited me to be a part of the selection committee to choose the 7 candidates for the S project Academy.  It was incredibly challenging to do this - I think all 19 deserved a chance.

Joe Gray (2005 15 grad) is working with Matevz on the S Project. The S project also has some substantial brands on board - the team's goal is to raise as much money as they can to give hope and opportunities to young people of Slovenia.  I recently took Matevz and Joe to San Patrignano to see how this incredibly inspiring community has grown and prospered in 30 years since it was first started. This was inspiring for Matevz as as aside from the hospitality industry he has plans to expand the S Project so that many young people in Slovenia are trained in many different skills.

Well done Matevz! Great to see young people starting this type of initiative.

I wish Matevž Slokar well and every sucess , I am sure it will be a wonderful training and start for these young people This is am exciting venture and I will look forward to reading about it as the training progresses.
