Food experiments that went wrong!

I read on a website that samphire goes just as well with lamb and rosemary as fish. Trust me, it doesn't!

Anybody had any epic fails in the kitchen, either by own merit or following bad advice? Please share it here so others don't make the same mistakes!!

I have only had one real culinary disaster and that has gone down in family history .
That was when I was 'not myself' and I accidentally put a mousaka topping on the lasagne ... This mistake has gone down in family history and I get reminded of my error at least 5 times a year !!!
It happened at least 10 years ago now .. Maybe more .

My sister tried making marshmallows with no sugar.

I know I have said this before, but it was so amazing. They tasted like nothing! And they bounced.

Rich chocolate cake, minus the sugar is quite bitter really. puke

Dropping the whole contents of a pot into the sink is my most usual one,  collanders don't always survive the process. Might need to get help to lift the pot.

I remembered one. I tried to make multi-colored bread and decorate it with a face. wayyyy too artistic approach. I mixed some dough with cocoa powder, some with turmeric, some with instant coffee and god knows what. Needless to say it became heavy and fell flat. it was horrible! tHats why the bread needs to be kept simple.

Such a shame you can't upload a pic.
I cooked a horror last night for a vintage inspired dinner party.
I made a GOLDEN CIRCLE BROWN VELVET PUDDING.... sounds good huh?
It required me to place rings of pineapple in the basin so it would look pretty when turned out. They fell off instead in random sections... Also w being turned it out on the plate it came out like a ball, rolling and bobbing on the plate. This was'nt the plan either. It was also too dry even though I added more juice than the recipe said... It tasted, ok.

I really buggered up a fish pie last night, made the sauce too thin and the mash too light resulting in a potato fish soup! Still, the loaf of bread was a triumph at least!

I tried to make an omelette after separating the egg yolk from the white and throwing it in the sink, then started beating the yolk and  shocked ............. I was used to beat the yolk with sugar as breakfast in the morning, that was my first omelette I was cooking for my brother ............. but why did he not do it himself, I must ask him hmm
